Kōpere Hou – Fresh Shorts is an NZFC initiative run in partnership with Script to Screen. Up to six teams will be selected to receive up to $30,000 to make a short film. As part of the Kōpere Hou – Fresh Shorts development process, teams are supported to attend a workshop and to receive mentorship prior to making their film. Short films remain an important part of career progression for new and emerging filmmakers and are a valuable stepping stone to long-form storytelling.
