Wellingtonian Paul Yates is an award-winning writer, actor, director and producer across a range of genres and has worked in the TV industry for over 20 years. Paul’s focus is comedy but he has written for drama, children’s and reality formats during the course of his career. His most recent notable work was as writer and script producer for critically acclaimed comedy series SUNNY SKIES for TV3 and GIRL VS BOY for TV2 and in the past he’s written for and acted in shows such as THE KILLIAN CURSE, DUGGAN, FACELIFT, AMAZING EXTRAORDINARY FRIENDS, and FREAKY as well as a number of sketch comedy shows in the 90s. He was also creative producer on WHAT NOW? for five years during the noughties. He’s currently writing and directing comedy strands for TV2’s THE ADAM & EVE SHOW and WHAT NOW? as well as a writing a kids’ cartoon series called DARWIN & NEWTS, and a feature film he has in development with Wellington’s The Gibson Group.
