After a long and thorough deliberation process, five feature film projects and eight writers have been awarded a place on our second Writers’ Lab Aotearoa:
Ghazaleh Golbakhsh with AT THE END OF THE WORLD
Victor Rodger with BLACK FAGGOT
Mark Albiston and Paul Stanley Ward with CAT BURGLAR
Rachel House and Mitch Tawhi Thomas with HUI
Gaysorn Thavat and Sophie Henderson with THE JUSTICE OF BUNNY KING
Competition was tough, with 60 applications received from a diverse range of writers. After all applications were read blind, 13 projects made a competitive shortlist and selectors made the final decisions last week. We are hugely excited by the unique voices evident in the chosen projects.
Writers will work on their projects with local and international talent, including the recently announced Gyula Gazdag – Artistic Director of the Sundance Filmmakers Lab and others soon to be announced.
